Life Story (Condensed version).

 

I grew up in the small town of Canastota, not to far from Syracuse, NY.  Though I love to learn, I wasn't much for schooling, so I didn't attend too much of it during my teens.  I didn't really do much with myself after high school except get depressed and watch a lot of TV.  It was around that time that I decided I wanted to be a writer.  But I didn't have the gumption to stay with it and eventually made my way to Plattsburgh, NY.  There I got my first real job working retail in an Electronics Boutique (now Gamestop).  I started at a Christmas temp, but within a few years was managing my own store in Raleigh, NC.

 

Why Raleigh?  My brother had moved there and was attending NC State.  At the time, a lot of the military bases were closed or closing, and Plattsburgh was fading away.  And Ralei8gh was growing.  So I asked my manager if I could get a job in Raleigh, and it just so happened that a store there was looking for an assistant manager.  Boom, Raleigh.  I eventually left retail (read: fired) and ended working for my current company.  Let me just say, knowing the right people and making good connections are really worth it. 

 

Other things happened in my life.  Parents divorced.  Father died far too young.  I ended up married in the suburbs of Chicago.  I currently work from home with the same company I started with in Raleigh after retail was done with me.  I get to travel for work and also for pleasure.  I have a great house.  I have a great wife.  I still suffer from depression, but I am fighting it tooth and nail.  I am a gamer; PC and all consoles.  I like to read.  I love working in my yard.  I am doing my best to enjoy what I can in life.
